Lettuce is one the easiest vegetables to grow from seed. Plant seeds throughout the growing season to have a steady supply. For balcony gardens, grow 2 plants in a pot 10cm in depth & diameter.
Growing Tips:
Sow lettuce seeds in well composted organic soil and cover lightly. Since the seeds are so small, the clears of those and large clods of soil is important. Once the seeds have germinated, thin the seedlings out to 12-15cm between plants and water regularly. You can start harvesting the outer leaves of your Cut-and-Come again mixed lettuce varieties from 5 weeks and continue to harvest regularly to keep the plant producing.
