How to make Garlic Butter

Nothing beats the smell of fresh garlic cooking in your home. One of our favourite recipes is garlic butter. To learn how to add garlic to even more meals, try out this new garlic butter recipe! Perfect for making garlic bread and some of your favourite meals even better!

It's really simple - here's what you need:

  • 4 cloves garlic minced well
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Beat egg yolks well with a wire whisk, then stir in the garlic. Gradually add oil in a thin stream, while you keep whisking until the mixture is light and creamy. Season with salt and pepper and stir in the lemon juice - then pop it into the fridge. Done!

How to make Garlic Mayo

We're also giving you a quick and simple shortcut to making a garlic mayo - using mayo. Much easier on the arms. Just mince the garlic as finely as possible first, then use the side of a knife blade to smoosh it into a really smooth paste. Add this to a really good quality mayonnaise, along with some vinegar and yellow mustard.

Did you know that it's not just the cloves you can eat - certain hard-neck varieties produce green shoots that are tender and totally delish, like garlic flavoured scallions, and are great for adding to pestos and soups.
