Baby Marrow - Romanesco
Delivery from:
Baby Marrow Variety: Romanesco
This variety is an absolute favourite with a slightly nutty flavour and ribbed skin. The flowers are traditionally used for stuffing and deep frying. Harvest the marrows regularly as the plant is extremely productive. For balcony gardens, plant in a pot 60cm in depth and diameter or larger.
Growing Tips:
This is a bush variety and doesn't trail. Sow seeds in well prepared beds with good organic compost. If you are concerned about pollination and want to get the maximum yield, remove the petals from a male flower and gently insert the core into a female flower. Female flowers are identified by having an immature fruit as a stem, underneath the flower. Use a different male flower to pollinate each female flower.
