1. Promoter

The promoter of this competition is Hadeco in collaboration with Black Horse Brewery (“the Promoters”).

This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram or Facebook.

 

2. Competition Period

The competition opens on 22 June 2026 and closes at 23:59 SAST on 1 September 2026.

Entries received after the closing date and time will not be considered.

The winner will be announced on 2 September 2026 via Hadeco’s official social media channels.

 

3. Eligibility

3.1 Entry is open to legal residents of South Africa aged 18 years or older at the time of entry.

3.2 Employees, directors, agents, consultants, suppliers, and immediate family members of the Promoters are not eligible to enter.

3.3 Immediate family includes spouses, life partners, parents, siblings, children, and household members.

3.4 The Promoters reserve the right to verify eligibility and request proof of age and identity.

 

4. How to Enter

To enter, participants must complete the following steps during the competition period:

  1. Follow the official social media accounts of Hadeco and Black Horse Brewery
  2. Like the official competition post
  3. Share a treasured Hadeco memory, garden photograph, or growing story to your personal public profile
  4. Tag the seven (7) guests they would bring to the experience in the competition post and answer the competition question:
    “What would you sip while strolling through the flowering fields — beer or gin?”

Entries that are incomplete, automated, fraudulent, duplicated, or deemed inappropriate may be disqualified at the Promoters’ discretion.

 

5. Prize

5.1 One (1) winner will receive access for themselves and seven (7) guests to the Hadeco Flowering Fields Experience in the Magaliesberg at the end of September 2026.

5.2 The prize includes:

Private Field Access

Exclusive access to Hadeco flowering fields during peak ranunculus and spring bloom season.

Guided Heritage Walk

A guided walkthrough of the flowering fields and growing spaces, sharing the history and heritage of Hadeco’s 80 years.

Curated Gift Bag

A curated selection of gifts for each attendee.

Black Horse Tasting Experience

A hosted tasting experience by Black Horse Brewery including:

  • Craft beer and/or gin tastings
  • Light paired eats
  • A hosted social experience inspired by the surrounding landscape

 

6. Prize Exclusions

The prize excludes, and the winner will be responsible for:

  • Transport to and from the venue (if you spend the night at Black Horse there is a shuttle available for your own account)
  • Flights
  • Accommodation (Black Horse is offering a discount for prize winners)
  • Personal expenses
  • Additional food or beverages not included in the hosted experience
  • Travel insurance or any incidental costs

Entrants residing outside Gauteng must note that travel and accommodation are for their own account.

 

7. Winner Selection

7.1 The winner will be selected by random draw from all valid entries received.

7.2 The draw will take place after the competition closing date.

7.3 The Promoters’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

8. Winner Notification

8.1 The winner will be contacted via direct message on the platform used to enter.

8.2 The winner must respond within 72 hours of notification.

8.3 If the winner cannot be contacted, does not respond, or is found to be ineligible, the Promoters reserve the right to select an alternate winner.

 

9. Prize Conditions

9.1 The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, and may not be exchanged for cash or any alternative.

9.2 The Promoters reserve the right to substitute any component of the prize with one of equal or greater value if necessary.

9.3 The experience date, timing, and logistics are subject to weather conditions, agricultural cycles, operational requirements, and force majeure events.

9.4 In the event of cancellation due to circumstances beyond the Promoters’ control, the experience may be rescheduled at their discretion.

 

10. Publicity

By entering, participants agree that the Promoters may use their name, likeness, submitted content, photographs, and competition-related media for promotional purposes without additional compensation, subject to applicable law.

 

11. Content Rights

11.1 Entrants confirm that all submitted content is original or used with permission and does not infringe any third-party rights.

11.2 Entrants grant the Promoters a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, repost, and share submitted content for marketing and promotional purposes.

 

12. Personal Information (POPIA)

Personal information collected will be used solely for the administration of this competition and related communications.

All personal data will be processed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and applicable South African law.

 

13. Limitation of Liability

The Promoters are not responsible for:

  • Technical failures or platform outages
  • Lost, delayed, or incomplete entries
  • Any injury, loss, or damage arising from participation or prize use, except where such liability cannot legally be excluded

Participation is at entrants’ own risk.

 

14. General

14.1 The Promoters reserve the right to amend, suspend, or terminate the competition if required by law or circumstances beyond their control.

14.2 Any attempt to manipulate or unfairly influence the competition may result in disqualification.

14.3 Entry into this competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

 

15. Responsible Consumption of Alcohol

15.1 The experience includes the service of alcoholic beverages as part of the curated tasting experience hosted by Black Horse Brewery.

15.2 Alcohol will only be served to participants who are 18 years or older, and valid identification may be required.

15.3 The Promoters promote the responsible consumption of alcohol at all times. Excessive or unsafe consumption will not be permitted.

15.4 The Promoters and venue reserve the right to refuse service of alcohol at their discretion where safety or wellbeing is a concern.

15.5 Participants are responsible for their own conduct and consumption and must act in a safe, respectful, and lawful manner throughout the experience.

15.6 The Promoters accept no liability for any consequences arising from irresponsible alcohol consumption during or after the event.
