Description: Bearded irises are evergreen perennials and are found in all the colours of the rainbow, hence why they are called the ‘Rainbow Flower’ (‘Iris’ is also the name for the Greek Goddess of the rainbow.) Bearded irises and daylilies are extremely good companion plants as they provide gardeners with an extended flowering period in their garden when planted together. Bearded irises are frost and drought resistant. Plant them in a sunny position (at least half day sun) in humus-rich, friable soil that is well draining.

Watering: Water well for 3 weeks so the roots can establish. Then, water deeply once a week during dry periods.
