For balcony gardens plant in a pot 45cm or larger wide and deep. Tomatoes are actually vines that continue growing in length throughout the growing season. Also referred to as "Vining Tomatoes", they continue to set and ripen fruit until killed off by frost. Planting & Growing: Sow seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before your last frost date, or direct sow after frost danger has passed. Transplant seedlings when they develop their first true leaves. Space plants 60–90cm apart in full sun. Tomatoes thrive in warm conditions and require consistent watering and support as they vine. Expect flowering within 4–6 weeks of transplanting, with fruit ready to harvest 20–30 days after flowering begins. Harvest regularly to encourage continued production throughout the season.
