Feeding
Feed every 4–6 weeks with a balanced liquid fertiliser to support steady, leafy growth.
Pest Control and Maintenance
Chives are relatively pest-resistant but may occasionally attract aphids. Snip regularly to encourage new growth, and remove spent flowers to prolong the harvesting season.
Water
Water when the topsoil feels dry. Terracotta pots dry out quickly, so check often. Water thoroughly, allowing excess to drain into the saucer—empty any standing water to prevent root rot.
Light & Placement
Place in full sun to light shade. Chives love at least 4–6 hours of direct sunlight each day and grow well on windowsills, patios, or herb tables. In hot weather, light afternoon shade is appreciated.
